Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman, one of the most beloved couples to come out of the Netflix series Love on the Spectrum, have confirmed they have ended their relationship after nearly five years together.
The pair first met on a blind date during season one of the show and quickly became fan favourites around the world. Their relationship was marked by the same openness and warmth that made the series so widely praised.
In a joint statement given to People magazine, the couple and their families said: “Abbey and David spent four and a half years together and truly value the time they shared and each other. At this point, they want different things and have decided to go their separate ways, but they remain friends wishing each other the best.”

Reports indicate the split came down to a disagreement over marriage. Abbey, 27, was reportedly ready to take that next step, while David, 31, felt he still needed more time. The couple had not appeared on each other’s social media pages since December 2025, with their last shared post together coming from a trip to Universal Studios over Christmas.
The news has hit their fanbase hard. Love on the Spectrum has been widely praised for the honest and tender way it portrays relationships among autistic adults, and Abbey and David were held up as one of its great success stories. They had been together since 2021.
Their relationship represented something quieter and more genuine than much of what passes for romance on reality television, and that is exactly what made so many people root for them.
